Controlled Item Tracking System (CITS)

This web-based system is designed to tightly control the ordering, distribution, and disposal of sensitive, individually serial numbered Items.

Originally designed to support a Homeland Security program, CITS can be readily adapted to support any requirement for cradle-to-grave tracking of individually identifiable items and/or containers with such items.

There are three or four functional levels in the system, the Headquarters (HQ), the Location and Sub-Location Users, and the Supplier.

The HQ controls initial establishment of "Locations", then receives orders for particular items from various Locations for approval.

The Supplier fills approved orders and assigns the numbered items to the destination Location. The Location accepts the shipment and can then track individual items as they are issued to sub-locations (or people) and when they are returned or disposed of.

The Supplier module also generates invoices, and tracks receipt for items, and payments.

bar codes and barcode scanners.
